Sweet Earth Foods - Burritos

Seitan is one of the wonders of the vegan world. Made from vital wheat gluten, this product is often used in place of meat due to its meaty texture and taste. And unlike tofu, there aren't tons of companies making seitan so I'm always on the hunt for a better tasting seitan. This time, I found one. Sweet Earth has been making natural, plant-based foods since 1978 with the purpose of providing people with interesting, nourishing options no matter what their lifestyle. This year, they came out with four new vegan burritos with seitan that are absolutely scrumptious!

The Curry Tiger Burrito is a blend of lentils, curried seitan, red pepper, and potatoes spiced with turmeric, cinnamon, and cardamom.  It is rich and filling.

The Big Sur Breakfast Burrito is incredibly delicious. I'm not one for burritos for breakfast, but this one is so good, I might change my tune on that one. It is loaded with big chunks of potatoes, crumbled tofu, smoked seitan, and red peppers.

The Kyoto Burrito was probably my favorite. It was loaded with good-for-you veggies like spinach, baby bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, and carrots as well as adzuki beans, seitan, brown rice, and edamame. It packs a protein punch!  This one was so fresh, it tasted like I bought it at a cafe. The sauce was light and paired well with the thin, tasty wrap.

Last, but not least, is The Anasazi Burrito, which was spectacular as well. It had a smoky blend of green chilis, anasazi beans, butternut squash, chipotle seitan, and ginger.

I was really impressed with the flavor combinations and the amount of fresh veggies in each burrito. Sweet Earth products are currently being sold in California, the Pacific Northwest, and parts of Arizona and are making their way to the east coast. For $3.49 each, I don't think you'll find a better tasting, all-natural burrito. I hope they hurry up and get over here. I'm all out of burritos.
