The bars are made of raw date paste, brown rice syrup, cashews, gluten-free raw oats, and chia seeds. Chia seeds seem to be the hot item right now as they are loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids, which promote cardiovascular and mental health. Chia seeds are also a complete source of protein.
All of these things are good things, but I have to admit, I had to eat a few of these before I really got used to the gluten-free oats. I generally don't prefer gluten-free oats as I find them to be chewy and gritty with an unpleasant taste. I much prefer regular oats. But, as I ate these bars over the course of a week, I grew to like them. They are light, not too filling, and good for you.
My favorite one was the chocolate orange flavor that has chunky chocolate chips in it.
My second favorite one was the cran-raspberry. It is super flavorful with chunky cashews and a great cranberry/raspberry taste.
The bottom line is that these are some great low-fat bars for individuals following a gluten-free diet. They are also a nice alternative to most of the high-fat bars on the market and great as a mid-day snack. To get some for yourself through Amazon, click here.
