Mama Jess is Jessica Grelle, a mother who studied nutrition and food science in college. After working in the food industry for over 10 years, she decided to start a family. Soon she was focusing on her family's nutrition and after her two-year old stopped eating certain vegetables, she got smart and snuck them into the dishes. Now, she is making delicious pasta sauces that are nutritious as well.
The first one I tried was the Garden Good -- the organic 5 veggie pasta sauce. The ingredients are simple: tomato puree, carrots, sweet potato juice, onion, squash, red bell pepper, olive oil, garlic, seas salt and spices.
The pasta sauce is tasty and definitely has a hint of the vegetables. I think the best part about this sauce is that it is high in vitamin A, an antioxidant that protects cells and may prevent development of chronic diseases, and a good source of vitamin C, an antioxidant that boosts the immune system.
The other one I tried is the Bean Good. This one sneaks white bean puree into the spaghetti sauce as a great source of fiber.
I actually used this one over noodles made of black beans, but, in the future, would recommend whole wheat noodles instead. I loved this sauce - it has a hint of white beans in a delicious tomato sauce.

At $7 each, these pasta sauces are pricey, but no one ever said that good, healthy, organic food was cheap. If you have the opportunity to try these, I would definitely recommend you do. Both of her pasta sauces are vegan and rumor has it that a vegan enchilada sauce will also be hitting the shelves soon. Look out for it!
