Thank you to everyone who entered. I really enjoyed reading about all of the dishes you plan to make with Daiya cheese. Although they all sounded spectacular, here are some of my favorites:
- Tofurky & Daiya Philly "cheesesteaks" "This is my husbands FAVORITE dish, loaded with onions and peppers and served with an ice cold beer!" (Amber in Murphysboro, IL)
- Vegan Chile Rellenos "I roasted the poblano peppers and removed the skin. I stuffed them with a mixture of mozzarella style Daiya shredded cheese, vegan cream cheese and a can of ortega chiles. Then I dipped the peppers in a flour, garlic powder and soy milk mixture. Next I fried them on the stove and served them with a homemade ranchero sauce." (Andrea in Valencia, CA)
- Pierogies "Last night I made pierogies filled with spinach and onion and a daiya cheese sauce to go over them. The sauce was just a mixture of butter, soymilk, and chedder daiya that I heated till it was melty." (April in Palm Springs, FL)
- Cheesy Soft Pretzels "Starting with my soft pretzel recipe, I'll roll to flatten each log, fill center with daiya and refold to close tubes. Then tying into pretzels I'll have warm, soft cheese-filled pretzels. Can't wait!" (David in Middlebury, CT)
- Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Caps "Stuffing: apple sage field roast, garlic, shallots, mozzarella Daiya and bread crumbs. I am so hungry!" (Ellen in Seattle, WA)
- "Black Bean Vegetable Soup w/ sliced Mexican Chipotle Field Roast links, pepperjack Daiya, white corn & spinach. TRY IT!!!" (Leah in Washington, DC)
- Vegan Supreme Pizza "I will make my vegan supreme pizza with vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage, green peppers, onions, green and black olives, Organicville Portobello Sauce, and Rustic Crust pizza crust. It's so good, omnis have asked for the recipe!" (Sarah in Birmingham, AL)
- TLT and Baked Potatoes "I want to make yummy broccoli baked potatoes with cheddar cheese! I also want to make a tempeh bacon, tomato and mozzarella grilled cheese on yummmmy bread!" (This is an honorable mention for my significant other, Zach, who also tried to enter. LOL!)
Thanks again to everyone who entered! Even if you didn't win, I still hope you all make the delicious meals you described. I'm getting hungry just reading about them!
